After watching huge flocks of mallards hit fields the last couple days, I started looking for spots between their feeds and the roost where we might be able to traffic some birds on a mid-morning hunt. I was planning to scout a couple of these potential spots the next few days but after both Luke and I overslept our alarms, we decided to try trafficking some mallards on a tiny creek that neither of us had ever laid eyes on. After a long paddle in the kayaks we got to our spot and got our spread set just in time for mallards to start pouring in! The action was hot and heavy for about 10 minutes and then abruptly cut off once all the ducks had headed back to the roost. Luckily there was enough activity along the creek during the rest of the day that we were able to pick off a few more ducks and even a bonus grouse. Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoy!
